The North Florida/South Georgia (NFSG)Veterans Health System consists of two medical centers, three large multi-specialty outpatient clinics and eight small community-based primary care outpatient clinics. The Malcom Randall VA Medical Center (VAMC) in Gainesville is a tertiary care facility that is also an active teaching hospital, with an extensive array of specialty services. The NFSG VAMC combines a full range of patient care services with state-of-the-art technology that is enhanced and supported through education and research. Facilities include: Malcom Randall VAMC in Gainesville and, Lake City VAMC. We also have 3 multi-specialty outpatient clinics in Jacksonville, Tallahassee, and The Villages, Florida; and community-based outpatient clinics (CBOCs) in Lake City, Marianna, Middleburg, Ocala, Palatka, Perry, and St. Augustine, Florida; and St. Mary's, Valdosta, and Waycross, Georgia. The VA NFSG Veterans Health System is a part of Veterans in the VA Sunshine Health Care Network, Veterans Integrated Service Network 8 (VISN 8), which includes medical centers and clinics in Florida, Georgia, and the Caribbean.["Major Duties Include: Inventory Management and Control: responsible for the management and control of an assigned class of expendable material; serves as the point of contact for the coordination of material support and resolution of logistic problems. Conducts forecasting and quantitative analysis; conducts spot checks; and complies with special requirements for firearms, ammunition and sensitive equipment. Returns, Recalls, and Reutilization: implements federal and agency programs for the return and reutilization of medical supplies; coordinates disposal of surplus or excess supplies. Makes emergent procurement decisions; and participates in root cause analysis process. Participates in VISN and facility strategic planning to support major and minor projects and intiatives, ensuring that supply and DME needs are met while considering cost, policies/procedures, sources of supply and other variables. Performs other related duties as assigned. Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level. Work Schedule: Monday-Friday; 8:00am-4:30pm, In addition to the assigned tour of duty, an assigned rotation for On-Call and Disaster Schedule for Essential Personnel may be required to meet minimum staffing requirements and service needs.
